Great centurion 2004-10-10 15:16

May be Richard, the only picture taken with a Praktika on this site. You inspire me to start looking for similar B/W oldies taken with my soviet made Zorkyi.

I also found this shot taken with a Zorky 4, amazingly in 2002.

I was surprised to learn, that PRAKTICA is not dead at all (former east german VEB !), but actualy under new management with new products.
But even here in Germany they have no strong advertising and everybody use japanese camera or the few ones Leicas, but nobody Praktica's from PENTACON.
My old ZORKYI had an price of 1.200 romanian lei in the sixties ( about 6 Pound sterling ) it was excellent, sometimes brutal (tear up the film) and it was confiscated by Securitate in august 1968 as I took pictures looking the U.S. Flag in front of the huge Lenin statue in Bucharest (while Richard Nixon just visited Romania !) They returned the Zorkyi to me, after two years, ofcourse without the film inside...
Have a nice day.
