Hello Ray,
How the designs have changed for the Americas Cup boats! Or are these races different than the ones that Dennis Conner won three times in the 70s and 80s.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Dear Bulent,
Yes indeed, the new America's Cup racing sailboats are large catamarans with sails over 90 feet high, and called Wingcats. And when the next stage starts in 2013, these Guys will be replaced with even larger Wingcats, with sails almost twice as high. Www.youtube.com is doing an excellent job at covering the Cup races. And providing detailed information past and future. www.Americascup.com is the offical site with interesting and detailed coverage, etc. While in San Diego, the Crystal Symphony was docked and the cruisers were able to walk through the America's Cup Village which is a lot of fun, especially at night with the music, dancing, vino, etc... Lookout Naples. Take care, and keep up the informative and fine visions, Sincerely, Ray Anderson Last edited by photoray; 12-11-2011 at 12:35 PM. |
