Thank you, Peter, for your encouragement yet again.
Yes, I did separate the sky into another layer and darkened it and then flattened the image. I struggled for a while and couldn't manage to get rid of that halso or white line which is most evident on the left-hand hill. I don't know if this is something to do with the degree of "feathering" used when selecting an area for a layer. No idea. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Kind Regards, John. |

How did you separate the sky here? Lasso, Magic Wand....? In my quest for tutorials on layers, I came upon this very useful way of darkening the sky. I used it in my Pillar Garden picture. One would still have to be careful erasing along the skyline using this method. Best wishes, Peter. |
