Great EstudioChispa 2013-04-02 8:59

Well done, sir! The illumination is interesting, the faces of the crowd at the bottom are intriguing -- and you put the light pole from yesterday's shot behind you!
:-)
Have a great day!

Default To EstudioChispa: Illuminated Giant Wheel ChennaiTradeFair

Hello Russ!

Two days! Two submissions!! Same theme!!! I have learned a lot from my friend Russ Ham.
Giant Wheel at ITI Trade Fair Chennai (http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo1412627.htm)
I wanted to capture the giant wheel during day time when it was not in operation. I also thought of including the television tower in the picture frame. This picture was exposed on 19th March 2013 around 05.00 pm in the evening. The fair was closed on 21st March 2013. They started dismantling and the truck was brought to carry the components. Hence there was not enough space to capture the giant wheel freely. I could not make full justification and lamp post entered into the frame. Yes your guess adding contrast (thro’ post processing) is absolutely correct.

Thank you for the critical review. This picture was captured on 10th February 2013 (Sunday) and the fair ground was filled with holiday crowd. Still the sky was blue. Sun light was fading and florescent lights were just on. I clicked several shots at different angles and at different positions. I have uploaded this one with slight cropping and adding some contrast.
What you have demonstrated thro’ your workshop communicates more critical lessons in photography. Kindly tell me how you achieved in bringing out the illumination? At last I have the satisfaction of being awarded 2 points.

Thank you for all the efforts in honing my skills.

Have a great day

Regards

Muthusamy

Oddly enough, I "brought out the illumination" NOT by retouching the lights but by darkening the sky, which was really the only change I made.

Your kind words are gratefully appreciated.

Have a GREAT day!
