A great feel to this photo Alistair. The Gormley sculptures, as big as they are, are dwarfed by the wind turbines.
I love the layering of the sand, the sea and the sky, and the light is what I would call 'delicious', I hope you know what I mean.
Gormley had a set of sculptures on Sola beach in Norway. They stood there for about 2 years, and I arrived about 6 months after they had been removed beacuse of fierce weather. They were then placed in Stavanger, and the series is known as the Broken Column. Each sculpture is 1.95 meters tall, as tall as the artist himself, and there are 24 of them, all facing 10° west. They are placed throughout the city, and the final one is in Stavanger harbour.
