Dear Yves, I note your presence some days ago and you're welcome on Trek earth, keep posting and writing critiques if you've time. I never visit Burma, this a wonderful site, that ancient place of worship is still present and well kept, I can imagine the magnificence of that place in the past, now villages and thick vegetation there. Beautiful buddha statue, Mahayana branch of Buddhism. all the best, warm regards

To Miguel82: On Burma
This is really fantastic country with so nice people. I was lucky to visit it in the 70' s and I went back last year. I hope to travel Burma again . I will try to upload more photos, the old ones are scanned from slides.
Pyay is an ancien place but the Shwesandaw pagoda in this photo is not in the ancien city of the Pyu , at 10, 20 km east of the city. Shwesandaw is Hinayana Buddhism pagoda. Best regards
