Great jwmunro 2009-12-08 12:34

Hello Way -

The early morning light in this scene is spot on and FizRoy is nicely highlighted among the clouds. You have nice detail in the FG but there is not a lot of definition between the FG tree and the dark forest beyond. This situation gives the FG a touch muddled look. I like the reflections peeking through the branches of the FG trees and the indistinct view of the reflection makes them a bit mysterious. This is a nice image with very nice light.

Thank you for sharing.

Default To jwmunro: My first instinct

Hi John,
As usual, my first instinct when taking picture of landscape. I always include something in the foreground, like trees, rocks, flowers...I do try to take just the mountain, but by the time I was there the clouds moved in again and I had to waited for it to clear which fortunately it did clear again later, but the light is already much stronger and the mood is different, off course I have some more shots, but I choose this one to post for it's misty atmosphere. I know what you mean here, the tree leaves are blending in with the background green hills and it lost its depth of field.

Thanks for you keen observation, that helps me see things that I missed.

Hi Way -

Please, don't get me wrong this is a very nice image. I point this out a just something to think about the next time you are out shooting. I think a step or two to the left would have given the needed separation between the FG and middle distance. Though this may have destroyed the peek-a-boo/mystery of the reflection and then there would have to be the balance issue of what to compromise. Just something to think about.
