Great Xen 2007-09-19 16:43

I love this photo of 'yiayia' and i love that she has no shoes on. You must have caught her off guard as Greek women are very proud and i don't think she would have intentionally posed like this.

You can tell alot of blood, sweat and tears have gone through your 'yiayias fourno' - you can tell there has been lots of bread baked in it as well...... the wall is so black!! You captured a moment you don't often see anymore - bravo!!

Default To Xen: yiayia

I can assure you my friend that I didn't ask yiayia to pose in a certain way barefoot or whatever... I just told her yiayia just stand next to your oven to take you a picture to remember... that's all
Everytime I look at this picture I feel so many things...
thank you

Hi again!!

I am 100% positive if you had asked yiayia to take her shoes off - there is NO WAY she would have done it. My yiayia was from Cyprus and she was a very proud woman and i know she would NEVER had taken her shoes off for a photo - she would have said that this was 'tropi'. Its nice that this photo holds a lot of meanin to you. Well done!!

Look forward to checking out your work!!
