Great Dashab 2010-01-05 14:34

Hello Dimitris,
Another nice shot of Kavala, looks like a pretty town!
Nice composition and light, nice natural colours. Perhaps it could use a bit of sharpening, but I think not as much as Craig did in his workshop.
Is your camera really a Nikon F50? A film camera? Sometimes you post your photos within a day or two of taking them. How do you do that with film? Just curious :-)
Have a nice evening, Dasha

Good evening, Dimitris,
Thanks for your note. And congratulations on crossing 500 points!
You are lucky to have a photo-lab friend! Now I understand the speed. But it must still cost you a lot to buy film and have the prints made...
That was one of the decisive things for me in getting a DSLR - to have the freedom to shoot and learn without spoiling film :-)
As for your choice of camera, I think it is not a bad one (although I prefer Canon :-)). My brother is a camera expert (he tests cameras and equipment and writes reviews for a large shop, does on-line consulting for customers and teaches photo seminars) and he just recently recommended the D5000 and the 18-105 mm lens to my aunt.
Have a nice Sunday!
Dasha
