Hello Bev
How nice you took a picture in my garden. The robin is a daily visitor.
As far as I know there isn’t a special association with X-mas, but there is with the winter in general.
The robin is also well known by a children’s song. I give you the google translation of the first verse and a link to a YouTube version.
Robin is tapping the window, tin, tin, tin
let me in, let me in.
It's too cool and too cold here to my liking
let me in, tin, tin, tin.
The girl opened and gave on her lap
crumbs of sugar and crumbs of bread.
That was the redbreast to the sentence
then flew back into the forest.
Roodborstje tikt tegen het raam

Thank you for your warm critique and poem link. Rob.
I do think robins are such attractive, friendly birds. Maybe Dutch 'Robins' are too!😉 Have a good day, Bev ![]() |
