i remember seeing similar paintings on the streets when I was there, but not quite like this. wouldn't it be cool if all our streets were painted haha..looking at the scene, i'm very curious about that red thing on the right...is that an old mailbox??? what is that? cheers

Hello Craig,
I wondered if anyone would be curious about that "red thing", and so far you're the only one. :-) That is actually an emergency call box, that connects directly to the fire department or police when a button is pressed. You can't see the front from the POV in my photo, but there is a red button (for fire) and a blue button (for police). Those boxes have been around since 1870! There are several different styles depending on when they were installed, but they are all red. Many of them still work, but since cell phones became common, most people don't use them anymore.
