Can someone please identify this bird for me? I've searched the Internet and have found no photos resembling it.

Hello Michael,
Very great photo of this bird from Africa.
To answer your question I googled and suppose it is European roller. If you go to Wikipedia.org/wiki/Coraciiformes you can find picture of the bird similar to yours. Also under wikipedia.org/wiki/European_roller you can read that they migrate for winter to Bostwania.
I'm not 100% sure, but you can read the info I gave you and decide for yourself.

I think also it's a roller bird ... i have seen and photographed same birds during a trip in South Africa. well taken, good rendering for colors, good sharpness too, tfs.
