Photographer's Note

The Karo tribe are one of the smaller ethnic groups in southern Ethiopia. They live on the banks of the Omo river and are comprised of between 1000-3000 people. They are agriculturists. One of their distinguishing aspects is body decoration, using paint made from chalk.
