Photographer's Note

Crater Lake is a volcanic lake surrounded by lush vegetation and habitat to many wild animals. It is 2000m above sea level and about 40k from Naivasha, a market town in the Rift Valley north-west of Nairobi. Naivasha is well known for its large freshwater lake and its flower growing industry.
The perimeter of Crater Lake can be walked around in less than an hour with care (we had a guide)and fortunately we did not come across any dangerous animals! The flamingo were delightful. These two greater flamingo were racing across the water ready for take-off.
