Photographer's Note
While touring FEZ, I tried to discover where the
traditional skin dyers were drying their wares. I knew
they did it around the city but nobody seemed to know where. It took me a few hours to tour the surrounding hills of FEZ and finally discovered one of them. The boy with the donkey had brought the sheep skins and he had just finished the job of spreading them around and pulled on his donkey to leave the place.

Very nice shot!
I thought that the donkey is going to be skined too. I'm happy it's not :)

Very nice colorful picture !
Very good compo, nice attitude of the donkey ! ;-)
I don't like gray frame but it's a personal choice.

Very good compo Izzet. Colors works very well (is like a Makhmalbaf´s movie). The donkey at the upper part of the shot gives a mouvement touch that I like. Merci beaucoup depuis Madrid.

I thought the skins were like virtual countries on a world globe map. See at the foreground, you can spot France.. the funny thing is that there's a donkey on top of the world.
My wife is born in Fez, my step-family still has their big house in Fez... though I've never been to Fez... How lame I am...
Btw, your photo is excellent but I bet you knew it.
(Izzet please, stick to white frame, that should be way better!)

The skins look like they are part of the natural landscape, like patches of flowers. I'm glad the donkey is not there to give up its skin. I will swing by to Morocco in a few weeks, I'm looking forward to seeing a little bit of colourful exoticism like this.

aha
i've been wating for this post.
i'm not sure... but i think this photograph made some big news. maybe i'm wrong :)
your perspective is soooooo fabulous here izzet and the colours are truly out of the world
this is one of the best i've seen in some time
i have to agree with luko here
i think a white frame will enhance the beauty of your colours . i'll try a workshop with a border that i normally use. i think your photograph could be more dynamic with a different border
take care :)

A very different, new and special photograph Izzet. I've never seen this. Your composition is the best you could choose, I think.
It's a great picture, but with a creepy undertone! All the freshly taken off skin.. gives me the shivers. But again, it's a good one.
cheers Sarah

Wow. Incredible. I don't think I have much to add here except that it seems like nothing is precisely (I mean exactly, super-sharp) in focus and I don't know why that should be. But it doesn't really make a big difference. This is a wonderful picture for all the reasons you know ;)

beautifully documented... looking at the thumbnail I thought they are red fall leafs, but I was amazed to see it is drying skin...
The man and the donkey contribute in an extraordinary way to this picture.
Nicely captured

Excellent subject, wonderful colour and composition. Definitely agree with others above about the frame. I'd also quite like to see the boy and his donkey further to the right in the frame, but that's being horribly picky because this is a really great shot as it is. Well done Izzet!

Wow, I'm glad you took the time to find this place. I really like the pattern on the ground from these skins. It's also nice that they change colors a bit up the hill. The man and the donkey add that little extra thing to complete the composition. Really nice.

WOW. Wonderful pov, colors, subject and compo. really a wonderful work. The skins are like abstract shapes in the landscape, creating a good fiel of colors. While the boy and the donkey adds life in the top.

This picture should deserve at least 1 thousand points !
I met it by chance, and it is really great. The foreground is a great colored pattern, and the donkey at the horizon with the blue sky make it a sort of unreal scene. Just great.

Hello izzet keribar!
Wow, what a deceptive image. At first i thought, how would have it been possible that donkey on carpet? :-)
But after enlarging pic, it's actually skins on ground. It's so perfectly spread over ground, that it seems like any "Design of Carpet".
You've got perfect balance to it aswel.Good note written.(Best of luck for future)

Merhaba Izzet Bey. I came across this incredible shot on the home page of TE, under featured destinations. I don't know how i missed it in your gallery! it has so much in it- design, colour and for me, importantly, emotive quality. Above all these hides, there is a living animal which i think senses death and refuses to move. Hence, the owner tries forcibly to get it moving. This sort of photo must be a horrendous sight for the Buddhists who believe cruelty to any creature is bad karma. Amazing POV Izzet which shows how big the industry is. Selamlar. Klaudio.

this one is clearly the king of your latest shots. the fg is what we might call "every photographer's dream"! and the guy trying to yank the donkey by its ears (or at least it seems so to me) adds humour and action to the graphics. no need to say how yummy the colours are.
