Photographer's Note
Shangri-La is a fictional paradise on earth. Ait Bougmez is a valley in Mgoun range, Morocco that is called the North African Shangri-La. Truly amazing region. Few hours hike to south there's the last village before Tarkeddit Refugee. Just a few houses along the path. Pretty remote place, however during summer months I think hikers visit that village relatively often. We've been there just before winter, yet it was pretty warm.
The whole area is incredibly picturesque with many fascinating rock formations and even more fascinating Berbers. The only drawback is that very few people allow to be photographed. They are even against photographing their animals. Obviously I don't blame them.
www.shangri.pl - they inspired our Moroccan trip to Mgoun
