Hi Don;
The composition here is really good, very simple yet very effective. The colors are the other appealing part of this image- very bold and natural looking.
The image is a bit too contrasty with burnt out highlights and under exposed shadows (losing detail in both). I can see you used a polarizer here which may have helped, but I think you could have benefitted from a ND Grad filter to tone down the sand - OR tried a HDR technique in combining two of the same images with different adjustments for the forground and background.
Best Regards,
- Dan

Hello Don,
A truly beautiful image showing all the contrasts of the desert before you. I think the overexposure allows the true feeling one would be attracted to as the desert is both harsh and warm and inviting in many avenues. The tree trunks are such a strong image within themselves that I believe this is a strong and powerful image showing all that there is to see to the artist.
Excellent work!

I've looked at the same scene done by other photographers, who wait for the soft light around sunrise / sunset to get a nice tonal range.
So, good composition but wait for better light.

Don I think you have a very strong graphic image here. I love how the trees are so isolated in this valley, with the setting sunlight bringing these lovely shadows spreading across the frame. Good work Don!

Hello Don! Beautiful compo of an other-wordly place. This is quite inspiring although I agree with some of the others that the lower salt flats might be a little too bright. But otherwise this image has huge impact.
Well done!

Hi Don!
As for me - this picture is a little bit frightening - but wonderful at the same time!
Congratulations,
Maria

Hello Don,
I was there last year and I really enjoyed. This place was already many shotted but your photo is quite original with the big contrast and the shadow putting a triangle on the red dune.
Well done and original,
Yves.

There's something to be said for the soft light of dawn, but there's an equal point to be made with harsh light, such as here. Excellent composition: great use of lines and shadows. I do wonder about the thin blue line at the base of the dune; it looks like an artifact?

A very graphical picture, with the several triangles of the upper part of the image, and strong contrast in colors and between the baren trees and and mineral environmement. This landscape is so different it could illustrate a fictious alien planet.
All the best,
Emmanuel
