Photographer's Note
Shot in Sossusvlei National Park - Dead Vlei
The Heart was there, in the Tree, believe me ;)
i used a polarising filter and redid the contrast in ps

Welcome on TE, fabian !
Very fine start, beautiful saturated colors. I think you use a polarized filter. Very strange this tree in this big desert...

Excellent work, Fabian. The colours are superb, with the blue, orange and light yellow, and the tree just adds the icing on the cake. Superb.

Hi Fabian, I don't care about the heart in the tree but the image is fantastic. Very simple, colourfull, contrasty, just beautifull.

Great Fabian! I loved the picture even before I noticed the heart, but that heart just makes it perfect, it's so simple and so great. Welcome to TE, and thanks.

Extreme simplicity of the composition, a graphism accentuated by the three principal colors : you have an real excellent graphism here.
The post-prod in ps is well done too, with the just right saturation.
I am impatient to see your next posts....and welcome to you on TE, Fabian ;o)

nice moody picture, lovely colours, good details. just wish maybe you were more to the right to reveal more of the nice shadow on the ground. (even if the heart wasn't visible from that angle) welcome to te!

Hi Fabian,
somebody else who enjoyed the colours of Soussuvlei (I posted some pic recently...).
It's an amazing part of this world and you captured ity perfectly. Your composition is very graphical, very well done, with excellent contrast...perfect. I also like that you can well see the structure of the dried out ground. Thanks for sharing and welcome to TE.

I suppose you have used a polarizzed filter for having the color of the loaded sky therefore. Very nice the composition and the colors.

Welcom on TE Fabian.
I like very much your photograph.
it is the dead tree which makes the photograph. it reinforces these marvellous colors of sand and the sky. It is really splendid.
Congratulations

Hi Fabian
What an excellent first posting at TE. A total sucsess in the distinct graphical setting. The offcentered placement of the tree, the dividing of the details, just super..

dude.... this is one of the best taken pictures I have ever seen.....even though it was worked on... anyways I would really like to see the original ... If you look at it form close enough, it seems to be a paintin....and maybe becouse I was stoned, I did actually notice the heart only after 10 or so minutes. :)))) H2OKOT

Brilliant photo, congratulations! And as if it wasn't enough, you have this heart in this tree... you should maybe tell us more about the PS technique you used, I'm curious.

Excellent shot, I especially like the heart in the tree, unique. Great contrast between the elements and the tree is positioned very well in the frame. thus its a very attractive composition.

HI!
This picture looks wonderful. When you look at it, there are only 4 main colours there, but they are so vivid, that it works perfectly.

Hola Fabian. Una foto increible, con unos colores muy intensos y una composición que representa muy bien la amplitud y soledad del desierto. El "árbol" en el lado izquierdo mejora mucho la calidad de la foto, y el uso del polarizador ha quedado muy bien. Buen trabajo.

Wow, what an amazing photo. The conrast, clarity, and colors are so deep it looks almost like an computer generated image. I really enjoy when a photo can be so breathtaking, yet simple at the same time. Great Job. Giuseppe

The colour contrast of this picture is simply fascinating! The tree has added another dimension to the landscape.

If not for the tree, this could have been taken on Mars!
I like this picture a lot but have some ideas... the position of the Tree's shadow suggests you were standing pretty much with your back to the sun. Polarizers work best when shooting at 90 degrees to the sun. If you'd perhaps moved to the right and around the tree, then you'd also have the shadow of the tree extending more into the picture.
Just ideas, of course. I realize that this is a spectacular picture regardless, also that it may not have been possible to experiment with different positions.
I have added this to my favourites.

i so believe you :)
it is beautiful how you've aportioned the horizontal plane among the ground, the hill of sand and the sky and such contrast.and then how remnant of the tree breaks that visual so wonderfully and that little heart of a detail is quite a find. i guess the word is "fabulous"

This is a beautiful shot. The colors are striking with the clear definition of light and dark and the lone tree in the composition is very strong and it is all very clear. Great work!

Great capture, I hope the heart is natural, I love this kind of occurrence appearing so perfectly, similar in kind to my shot 'petrified face'. Great strong lines and colours so clearly separated. So baron, its lovely.

A beautiful composition! Stark, great use of a few colors and simple images. Even the sand line dividing the picture in half works here, which doesn't happen often.
Great job!
