View of the Northern Drakensberg. At this time of the year (September) it is quite dry and veld fires subsequently destoys large areas of grass.
The black piece in the foreground and further back is the remains of a recent fire. The green tinges are new grass that are starting to sprout and with the first spring rains this area will turn green virtually overnight.
