Photographer's Note
Three kids from the village of Majok-Chedhiop in South Sudan. This village is desperately poor. The children are naked because they do not own clothes, not because it is hot. These are my relatives and I am trying to help them.

Hi Isaac. I have to say, I just read your intro, and "Wow!". I am glad you have come out as well as you have, but am saddened and appalled by what you have had to endure. Hard to believe how often stuff like this still goes one.
These are really cute kids and good subjects for a photo. Shots like this would work better in general if you can get the kids to do something other than standing and looking at you as you take the photo. If you can catch them in play, at work, or even doing something for the camera, it will make for a more impactful shot.
I hope you are able to help them Isaac.

Isaac,
I too read your intro and am so happy for you that you mamanged to survive what must have beeen brutal times. I agree with Darren that its much better to try and cathc children on the act being children playing aimlessly or being fascinted by something. This looks a little too posed. I hope to see more of your shots from Africa.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Isaac, welcome to TE. Your story is really dramatic. Sudan is quite far to learn more. Your photos may bring more knowledge about this country and help to open it to the rest of the World. I look forward to seeing more pics from you. And thaks for sharing. Cheers, Michael

First your shot caught me, now your intro ... Really sad to hear such things happening still in planet EARTH ... We all say these things shouldn't happen but when it comes to doing something about it, only few ones are still there to help ... But it doesn't matter, even if one kid survive, We've reached our goal ... Your camera is like mine and it seems we have same goals ... i am going to start a new thread in forum & i need your help, maybe even we ( only trekearth members ) send our 2nd hand clothes to an association in Sudan, no more kids in that village or the ones around it would have to be clothless in coldness of winter and shoeless on hot sands of African saharas ...
My post in TE Forum for the ones who wants to help all poor kids in this village or the ones around it ...
TFS,
Shahab,
P.S. This is my favorite plus I agree Darren

Hello Isaac, i think this photo causes many of us to re think our about our own lives and the vast quantity of things we take for granted. One can have so much materially yet feel empty in life, and these young children have the sun in their smiles, how can we help and to what adresse can we send clothes? Thank you for this thoughtful photo.

Very tragic in the 21st century to see such photos. Except for your excellent photographic skills, I like the hidden messages of this photo...

these kids are poor indeed from what i see. they seem to be contented tho to what they have coz they got no choice, i beleive. their smiles on the other hand testify that they have souls just like us, and have the right to live in this world of ours in dignity. it is tragic that this situation still exists in many parts of the third world. you captured this shot in all originality and honesty, it is a beautiful one but i must admit my heart breaks seeing them like this. good job! i am glad you made your way to these united states. where in US are you isaac? with best regards,
benedict
