Photographer's Note
I took this picture while at the market in Apt, South of France, earlier in July. Some very agreable and talented Jazz musicians were performing in the streets and attracted flocks of people! They were really good indeed! I took this photo during one of their breaks.
I thought that putting it in b/w enhenced the beauty and complexity of the instrument (cello) and also gave a more interesting background: for the first time, I noticed the footsteps on the ground!
I hope you like it!

Hi Anne,
Very good detail shot. B&W is the best choice for such a composition. I like the technical harmony in it.
Thanks for sharing,

Bonjour Anne-Sophie
Bravo pour cette image d'un grand raffinement.
Le sujet est rare sur TE et ta photo sort vraiment du lot par son excellent cadrage, par le graphisme que tu as su isoler et par la présentation très esthétique.
Très bon choix cette conversion en N&B.
Magnifique composition, compliments.
Amitiés
Karine

Bonjour Anne Sophie,
I wouldn't have thought what this is until I read you're note. Not familiar with any musical instrument that's one reason why :(
I like the details, the B&W gives shapes and depth.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello,
Good idea the B&W treatment playing and evidencing the contrasts and the textures. Good placement in the frame where the curves are nicely taking place.
Yves.

Hi Anne-Sophie,
I do like this shot. There is something very special about it. I suppose this has a lot to do with the geometry and make-up of this intricate and interesting instrument. Full of curls and cogs. Tiny little screws, notches, bumps and a bruise or two. Old metal and aged wood. Man and a wonderful music machine. Well used and worn, but bold and beautiful! Even amongst the setting of a concrete footprint impression..
I think you have done a good job here. You made this instrument a joy to see. The photograph is full of tone; perhaps a bit bright in places and a little dark in others. But everything is in place and it works well this way. It is music to my eyes!
Thanks for sharing,
casper
