Photographer's Note

This shot belongs to our Boyalık village trip. A village cafe where men pass leisure time, in real, their leisure time is the whole day. More of them unemployed, some of them lazy.

This shot belongs to my Canon machine. I sometimes miss it.

)I examined a portrait album last night, it always shows the light source direction, this makes the reading and understanding of photo easier. Let me do the same, there is a window at the right side:)

Boyalık'ta köy kahvesinden bir kare. Köy erkekleri boş vakitlerini (çoğu vakitleri boş çünkü ya çoğu işsiz ya da tembel) kahvede geçiriyorlar.

Bu kare, Canon makineme ait, bazen onu özlüyorum.

) dün akşam bir portre kitabı inceledim, orda her kareyi ışık kaynağının nerden geldiğini açıklayarak sunuyor, ben de öyle yapim: sağ tarafta pencere var...:)

This is a black and white photo of very high class.
The wide angle lens really enter the scene.
The sharpness of the face in foreground is perfectly balanced by the out of focus (but still visible) faces in the background. Very good work

Merhaba Figen, tipleri müthiş bulmuşsun gene, grup elemanlarının diziliş kompozisyonu da harika ayarlanmış. Greni özellikle mi tercih ettin, çözümsüzlükten mi (800 iso), ama fotoğrafı bence güçlendirmiş. Çok beğendim, özellikle de ön plandaki gözlerin ışığını. Tebrikler.

Hello Figen,
The interiors of some Turkish cafés haven't changed much since I was a regular visitor in the 70's. Men, men and more men idling away their days, smoking and drinking endless glasses of tea. The b&w tones are very goos, and I like the POV where the men are sitting on a diagonal line right up to the next table.

When the light is right any camera and a good pair of lenses can make the pits stand out from the face..

very well composed figen..even the bokeh of faces..

what were you doing there anyway...asking for a lighter..??/ :)))

Sultan'ın dedeli fotosunun aktörünü Burt Lancaster'e benzetirken, senin baş aktörü de birilerine benzetmeden geçemeyeceğim lakin ismini hatırlamadığım Kızılderili kökenli ABD'li bir aktördü kendisi.
ikincinin bakışı alem hakkaten :))

ps: baş aktörün ışık gelen tarafında halo var. hala halo var. benden söylemesi >:P

Hello Figen,

Effectivement, ce noir et blanc est très fort et très bien rendu.
J'aime beaucoup la texture de la peau de personne au premier plan. Il règne une drôle d'ambiance dans ce café. Un photographie très impressionnante et très bien réalisée.
Le détourage de la tête est un peu trop visible à mon goût.

Figen - you have to be one of my most favourite artists on this site - your work is so strong - powerful situational portraits and human scenes carried off with imagination and skill - the composition here is excellent and the feeling coming form the image is so full and rich with the presence of these guys - particularly your main subject - there is much to learn from your approach.
