Photographer's Note

This is a new motorway bridge across the Säve river in Gothenburg. The official name is "Partihallsförbindelsen" but it is popularly called Röde Orm = Red Orm. This is the title of a well known book by Frans G. Bengtsson about a Viking called Red Orm. The English title is The Long Ships.

Röde Orm means Red Snake or Red Serpent. The word "orm" is the same as in "worm".

This bridge winds indeed across the river as a serpent (or a worm).
