Lighthouse, a photo from Lefkada, Ionian Islands

Photographer's Note

The Lighthouse of Lefkas is ideally located in Cape Ducato, which is down south of the island of Lefkadas. This lighthouse was built in 1913. It has an altitude of 4.5 meters. The lighthouse is a popular Scuba Diving center of Lefkadas, which affords a depth of 40 meters and visibility of 30 meters.
It is one of the most preferred Scuba Diving site in Lefakadas and it is here that you will come across plenty of lobsters. A word of advise for the the divers, if you are new to diving, then obviously this is not the place for you. The currents are pretty strong and only divers with past experience should venture and that too with an expert guide.
To reach the lighthouse, one has to take the trouble of driving along a 16 Kms. stretch of unpaved road. At times it can be terrible and one has to encounter little rocks every now and then along the way. One has to drive really slow while encountering all those bumps. Once you reach the lighthouse, it more than makes up for the harsh terrain. The views from the lighthouse are stunning with breathtaking scenic beauty of Ithaca and Kefalonia.

questa isola è meravigliosa e sei bravissima nel coglierne tutti gli aspetti andando alla ricerca di angoli nascosti e particolari.
Anche in questa mare e cielo gareggiano in bellezza e presentano tutte le belle tonalità del blu, il tutto a contrasto con l'incanto delle rocce che si gettano verso il mare che appare tutt'altro che tranquillo.
Una composizione eccellente alla quale associ nitidezza superlativa.

Hello Kamila,
I understand why you remain by this fabulous water. This colour is enchanting. This time though I feel that the turquoise sea almost steels some attention from the right part of the photo. I love the dark green vegetation covering the rough grey rock, where the cloud gives the lighthouse a perfect background. Although I'm not quite sure, I could almost fancy a drastic crop, taking away maybe 40 % of the left part, leaving the two rocks in an almost square composition, or maybe with a slightly vertical shape.

Ah, the whiteness! The clouds, the waves, the cliffs, the lighthouse itself. A stunning picture with the lighthouse boldly placed in the upper corner, and depth achieved by showing the next headland protruding into the very light blue sea. Great shot.

I will never stop being impressed by the colour of that water, its so intense and bright and beautiful. Added to that here the inclusion of the beautiful lighthouse, and its a real winner of a shot. The puffy clouds make a nice backdrop too.

Hello Kamila,
the very bright scene has been well composed and nicely balanced with the remarkable turquoise sea complementing the fluffy clouds in the sky.
I see from your exposure settings this was shot at f/3.5 @1/2500,I think it would help your DOF to use an aperture setting nearer f8 for landscape shots if possible.

Hi Kamila,

No matter how many times I've seen this turquoise water, I still find it absolutely stunning, and you've always given it a proper display. Once again here, the range of blues are seamless, vibrant and yet soothing to the eye. I so envy these majestic views and gorgeous coastlines which you've featured! You'll have to excuse me if I've mentioned this before, this could certainly pass for the Caribbean, but I find it much more interesting that it's actually Mediterranean waters. Delightful composition with the lighthouse sitting atop this section of cliffs. Please keep 'em coming, I'll never tire of these images! Have a terrific weekend.

naprawde ogromnie Ci zazdroszcze tego pieknego miejsca w ktorym mieszkasz. Wszystkie Twoje zdjecia ozywiaja marzenie o wakacjach. Tutaj znowu niesamowity zielony kolor wody i dodatkowo urocza latarnia ktora dodaje jeszcze jeden ciekawy element kompozycji.
Wspaniala praca, aha moze spieniona woda lekko sie przepalila ale to trudna rzecz do naprawienia, nawet HDR by wiele nie pomogl bo w ruchu HDR daje dziwne efekty.
Nie mniej jest to spektakularny widok,

Marvel is composition, beautiful clear these cliffs with rocks and bushes covering its top, the light that emerges above them is a great addition, the blue color of the sea is magical and beautiful sky complete a superb picture.
