Photographer's Note

It is a relief to see scenes like this, where individuals take time to reflect, think or not think, while the gentle pulse of the waves matches the beat of the heart or the turning wheels of the mind.No intrusive sounds, no pulsating , bright neon images, just a gradual sinking of the day into a starry darkness.
I had lots of problems with this image, taken at 1/13 sec, without tripod, with no structure upon which to lean my camera. Originally with a tilt, the image had to be straightened, cropped, brightened, contrasted, illuminated and sharpened.
Although Calypso is from Split, the scene is from Makarska.

Hi Klaudio. Perhaps a little noise still in the shadows but you have bought out the light and colour well. Excellent calm mood. Good sharpness for 1/15 sec hand held! Thanks for sharing.

Good morning Klaudio,
you've done well here if we consider you hand helded the camera at 1/13! The bit of noise in the shadows doesn't bother as it's well balanced by the good quality you've got the highlights. The view of the sunset is really nice and you framed it well using part of the boat and the fishermen on the right. The pastel colours and the relaxed atmosphere make this picture pleasant to look at. I like it.

Hi Klaudio,
Being a boat owner,I just look at all that varnish work on the Calypso and any serenity goes out the window.
Lovely scene, is there anything more reflective or relaxing than "wetting a line".
Considering your problems outlined in your note you've done well to present this image so well. The many elements you've captured combine perfectly in your composition and POV.

A lovely, tranquil early autumn scene of the type we need to get us through these windswept wintry days. You captured a very nice light on the woodwork of the boat. The composition is really good and despite the noise in the picture you must have not had too much to drink beforehand to get such a sharp result hand-held.

Tranquil evening scene by the sea. Good combination of warm brown and purple tones. Calypso look very carefull built and maintained ship. Sharpening looks rather strong with brighter halo around edges.
