Photographer's Note

Targoviste è situata sul fiume Ialomiţa nel distretto di Dâmboviţa.
Il periodo più felice di Targoviste iniziò con Mircea il Vecchio, quando la città divenne capitale del Voivodato di Valacchia: a quel periodo risale il palazzo reale (Curtea Domnească), all'interno del quale Vlad III Dracula fece costruire la Torre Chindia, attualmente simbolo di Targoviste.
Nel 1597 Tărgovište fu teatro di una battaglia contro gli Ottomani, vinta da Michele il Coraggioso.
Con lo spostamento della Capitale a Bucarest da parte di Gheorghe Ghica nel 1659, iniziò la decadenza sia politica che economica di Targoviste.
In tempi più recenti, nel 1989 Tărgovište tornò ai clamori delle cronache per essere stata la sede del processo a Nicolae Ceauşescu e a sua moglie Elena a seguito della rivoluzione romena e la successiva caduta del comunismo, concluso con la loro esecuzione.

Targoviste is located on the river in the district of Ialomiţa Dâmboviţa.
The happiest time of Targoviste began with Mircea the Old, when the city became the capital of Wallachia Voivodeship: at that period was the royal palace (Curtea Domnească), in which Vlad III Dracula built the Chindia Tower, now a symbol of Targoviste. Targoviste in 1597 was the scene of a battle against the Ottomans, won by Michael the Brave.
With the moving of the capital Bucharest by Gheorghe Ghica in 1659, began the decline both political and economic Targoviste.
In more recent times, Targoviste in 1989 returned to the clamor of the media because it was the venue of the trial of Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena in Romania after the revolution and the subsequent fall of Communism, ended with their running.

This is a nice shot of this impressive tower. The overhanging leaves add depth for the shot. The stone wall provides a good border for the shot. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

Ciao Caro Maurizio,

Che cielo tu hai catturato qui. Putroppo c'e un po sovra-esposizione nelle nuvole a sinistra, ma e difficile nei condizioni di luci forti. Incredibile la torre, sembra quasi 3 dimensionale la nitidezza e cosi buona. Mi piaciono anche le strutture nel primo piano. Ottimo lavoro a grazie per la condivisione.

Colpo da maestro per questa NON-CARTOLINA! Delle foglie così nitide che sembra di poterle toccare ti hanno già scritto tutti, non ripeto il già detto. A me piace tanto questo antico muro di sassi. Anche lui, come questa splendida torre, avrà certo una lunga storia da raccontare. E mi viene da ridere mentre concludo (IO???Proprio la sottoscritta? Ha-ha-ha..) eccellente POV, Maurizio!

this shot is not as simple as it looks, its very cleaver in its composition.
only 3 elements, but the stonework along the bottom acts as an anchor, the greenery fills out the dead space if there were only 2 elements, and the main subject is positioned classicaly at the 1/3 location.
excellent overall composition.

It misses nothing any more on the photograph but the Romeo on the top of the wall and the Juliette with the balcony !!! A beautiful catch of sight on this original architecture which arises nicely on this splendid sky of summer. The part of the foliage in the foreground gives a pleasant contrast.
