Photographer's Note

This shot accompanies my other shot of children playing in Zhongwei. This girl was part of the neighborhood kids, but didn't feel much at easy with all the fighting games going on.

Zhongwei is a town in Ningxia, China's autonomous muslim province up in the north.
It lies on the edge of the Gobi desert. Zhongwei's main attraction is a desert amusement park, not far from the Yellow River, just outside of town.

Hello Benny,
This is a catchy and simple photo. The girl is cute and is properly dressed for a colour photo and the plain background is suitably neutral. It's not very important, but if she had been placed one third from the left she would have been looking into the view instead of out of it.

Hello Benny, an 'eye catcher' in the thumbnails.
By placing her to the right of your composition, it makes me wonder as to what she is looking at, perhaps wishing that she can join in with the games? Placed on the left, maybe the impact would be lessened?
A simple scene but with its' own story.

a very appealing scene, a spontaneous portrait with great graphic value and an adorable and interesting character. I like very much how the smart little girl is leaning on her skate and seems to be evaluating a mysterious scene that we don't get to see. The low point of view makes her presence more imposing and emphasizes her expression and attitude. The lines covering the whole background are superb. Congratulations and thank you!

A nice image, well seen. It would have been better ,I think, if the girl was not leaving the frame but entering it.Also the backgroung could have been less distracting if it had been a little softer.Hard to do that ,being so near te subject. Also your little girl is not sharp. However, you have captures a charming little sho.

Fine street scene. The kids are always a great subject. I like the POV, most of the people would put the subject in the center.

A simple, but affecting photograph. From your notes we can interpret the girl's somewhat apprehensive look. I had a look at your WS, and feel that the change of postion of the girl in the frame works well; but as far as blurring the background is concerned, I think you need to go back to the drawing board!

What a little cutie. I like how she looks away from the camera and also how you composed the shot with her standing slightly off-centre. Lovely red tones and I like how it contrasts against the fairer colours in the BG. Excellent work, thanks for sharing.
