Photographer's Note
Light of Fanad - Donegal
A night shot of fanad Lighthouse. Fanad Head Lighthouse was built along the Fanad Peninsula in 1817, then larger and
higher towers were added in the 1880's. I have to say it is one of my favorite lighthouses in Ireland.

Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3

Hi Stephen,
What is the secret of your night shots?? They are so dramatic, not any evidence of any noise, looks so perfect. Can you please share the technical details of your shot and PP?

Wow! What an amazing shot. The long exposure has created such a marvelous effect with the water, and the details of everything in the scene are impossibly crisp. I totally agree with the first critique: worthy of a gallery.

Very nice shot Stephen, but that blue cast (which is a I guess a side effect of over-saturation) looks very artificial to me :/ I've noticed some tendency in your recent shots that many times you're trying to be too colourful. I understand that lots of folks enjoy shots dripping with crazy colours, but less is usually better in my opinion. Otherwise the thin line between reality and s-f begins to blur. That's just my two pennies in this matter :]

This is a great shot. Not just for the composition and subject matter, but for the way you have captured and presented it. Very artistic. The long shutter speed has created a very beautiful effect on the sky and with the water. I disagree with regis about the color. I love the blue and I don't think its over saturated. Whoever said landscape photography needs to be realistic anyway? The long shutter speed has already "blurred" the line between reality and something more artistic. Great shot!

Yes it looks a bit not natural but with this exposition time it may be almost true.
I like it very much.
Very good work.
I would say it is better than natural...

Hi Stephen,
An amazing blueu hour shot ! That contrasting a lot with the white lighthouse on the top of the photo. Rock on foregroung are making a perfect first view, contrasting also with the water and the long exposure time effect.
That a very good job.

Eye catching vertical for the resolute up close rocky shoreline, misty flowing ocean in blue, then the iconic Fanad Head Lighthouse. with deep blue dramatic sky background.
Good job,
