Photographer's Note
Exploring the massive Angkor Thom I was looking for different ways to capture this wondrous ancient city. There is an area that was a raised walkway and so I crawled in underneath (yes, some rather funny looks from that). I was captivated by the perspective of the columns and also the workmanship in an area that is essentially not even meant to be on display.
The walkway was made to connect the Elephant terrace of Angkor Thom to Bayon Temple.
I thought the sepia toning went with the ancient subject matter although I know it is not to everyone's liking.

Hi Kathry
Yes I know, we photographer sometimes get these funny looks when taking the extra step for a great picture.
And in this case well worth the effect. This is a very nice perspective on Ankor and really pleasing to look at.

Hi dear Kathryn
Yes, a great artstic shot again.
Great idea for the synmetry and geometry way.
Nice panfocus approach with the deep exposure. The shade of pilars is very very impressive according to your original strategy. Sharp and clear image as usual. Thanks for your good work and have a good day!
Best reagrds,
Takero from again rainy Tokyo

Great perspective shot, I would have also taken one from squatting down and to the left or right a bit, which would also have been a fantastic perspective view.

Hi Kathryn
superb symmetry and pespective in this wonderful POV, but it is the light and shade that are the stars here. So effective and appealing. Excellent imagery!

An excellent view fhrught this walkway. You have taken very good viewpoint. IMO this is a very well composed image and great use of side lighting to create a dramatic feel, with excellent depth. Well done.

Hello Kathryn,
the sepia tone works quite well for me,but it`s the patterns created by the shadows of the columns that makes this stand out, well exposed and beautifully composed it`s a photograph that has great merit.
Best regards Les.

Ciao Kathryn
I'm with you on this one, I think the sepia works. It accentuates the timelessness and history of the subject matter but also accentuates the play of light and shadow. Excellent perspective and diminishing lines too.
Nice work, have a great Saturday

Hi Kathryn,
There is a wonderful eerie sense to this image, maybe because its an area nobody ever goes. Light and shadow are again excellent, and stunning depth. I really like the colour treatment too, it adds a feel of ancient to the whole shot.
Best wishes

Hi Kathryn!
I like linear perspective here. The shadows of columns are great.
