Photographer's Note
Hi All.
This is Mataikona Beach just north of Castle Point. Taken on Easter Monday at about 9:30 in the morning. We found the beach surprisingly empty for such a fine day on a public holiday, not that we were complaining of course. We drove though fog for about an hour on our way to the beach and arrived to near perfect conditions within 10 KM’s of our destination. (just lucky I guess)
In WS I have put a macro of the beach gems.
Enjoy,
Paul.

Hi Paul,
an other great landscape pict... I love the DOF and the idea you had to include this foreground. But I tried to remove it, just to see what it gives. I hope you'll like it.

I love a landscape image with a huge foreground Paul! This is excellent. Personnally I would have cloned out the little bit of flare in the sky, but it doesn't detract from the image overall.

Hi Paul
There's some attractive looking seaweed well placed in the foreground. The rocks seem to go on forever creating lots of depth. I've just done a little WS to show more details in the foreground without losing the contrasts.

Perfect framing with a good balance of the fg and bg elements, Paul. The light gives good details of the stones and waterplant texture. The clouds are a nice repetitive element for the stones.

Olá Paul, very beautiful deserted beach scenery, so well composed in the vertical, giving a great depth and also a wonderful impact from these dried seaweeds in foreground. The clouds are also enhancing the top of the image and it's a pleasure to discover the view seen at a far distance along the coast. Great shot!

Hi Paul,
Good choice of this so low POV, touching the land, to obtain a great perspective of the beach and to leave a small part of the picture to the landscape and the sky, giving the absolute protagonism to the stones and the algae in the beach.
The sea and the clouds add more beauty to the composition, which is very well illuminated and with excellent colors.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi Paul,
This is one magnificent view. Personally I like the seaweed in the foreground. The distant view to the mountains is amazing and the cloud formation looks grand. I think I would have attempted to clone out the spot in the sky, I don't know what caused this, other then that it is a perfect image. Congratulations.
