Photographer's Note

ENGLISH: This is the main bridge in Ross, a characteristic little town in south-east Tasmania. The townlet is about an hour's drive from Launceston and is full of quaint little shops, cafes and historic buildings. The Ross Bridge was constructed by convict labour in 1836, and is the third oldest bridge still in use in Australia. Commissioned by Lieutenant-Governor Arthur. The bridge was designed by architect John Lee Archer, with the convict work team including two stonemasons.

ITALIANO: Questo è il ponte principale in Ross, una caratteristica cittadina nel sud-est Tasmania. La cittadina dista circa un'ora da Launceston ed è pieno di negozietti carratteristichi, i bar e edifici storici. Il Ponte di Ross fu costruito dal carcerati nel 1836, ed è la terzo ponte più antica ancora in uso in Australia. Commissionato da Arthur tenente-Governor. Il ponte fu progettato dall'architetto John Lee Archer, con la squadra di lavori compresi due scalpellini.

This is a fantastic shot.
Many photos have excellent reflections, but this photo gives us 2 perfect skies for the price of 1.

bello questo ponte che con il suo riflesso sull'acqua, completa in modo ricco la composizione.
Eccellente la gestione della luce e il DOF.
La scalinata in curva sulla sinistra, conduce lo sguardo a seguirla.

This is beautiful, such a great POV and depth in the composition. A perfect frame and very clear. The colour tones are superb and rich. This is such a beautiful well known bridge and this makes me want to visit Tasmania.

Dear One,
Very nicely taken shot. No fussing about, simple, but tells the story perfectly.

I didn't think you had old bridges like this in Australia ;-) I like how you have framed it to show off its elegant lines to greatest effect. The lovely sky and reflections make for a very pleasant atmosphere. Light, colours and clarity are all very good. Not long to go to the weekend for you now. A great photo of a much publicised bridge but you managed to get totally away from the usual tourtisty shots. Beautifully smooth water with the angled bridge making the composition.

well thoughts a nice rounded number! congrats on 10,000.
you know what i admire most about this shot?, the curves, that little rounded staircase on the left, goes so well with the 3 large semicircles under the bridge deck.
also, those reflections, and warm bright lighting are fantastic.
funny how such a small bridge can be so photogenic and charming

Love the reflection here, the stair invite viewers for a little walk up on the bridge. Good composition, technically all if fine as always. Love those cotton candies up in the sky. Yum!

What a beautiful bridge! Bridges, and especially stone ones, are such a rewarding object for photographers, aren't they? And especially when you have water that is this beautifully calm and produces such perfect reflections!
I very much like the diagonal composition and the symmetry created by the reflections, and the beautifully saturated colours.

Archer, a good name for a bridge architect. I guess this community was not very big those day and main reason for making such laborous looking bridge was providing something meaningful to do for convicts rather than just getting quickly over the water.
Result is very stylish, and so is your shot with nice light, clear reflections and dynamic angle.
