Photographer's Note

In this part of France, slate is everywhere. Trélazé, a small place 10 km south of Angers, is called the slate capital of France for a good reason. With the heritage of slate mining and processing, it is also home to the Musée de l'Ardoise, or the Slate Museum. It was the reason I came here, to see the museum and this very interesting demonstration of the traditional way people use to work slate in the XIX century.
