~ glow ~, a photo from Tunis, North

Photographer's Note

From one of many narrow alleys & archways in the old Tunis medina I chanced upon showing off the ageing worn out and weathered beaten structures. It's a cool airy place for a short break from the hot sun outside, and I love the effect with strong light emerging from the opening against deep shadows cast of the passageway.

There's a very calm atmosphere and the ambient was what I was after but of course it's a situation whereby lighting is hard to deal with two extreme conditions but its the people who made me go for this shot. Could be a scene from a Film Noir thriller I would imagine ......

Setting: 50 mm, 1/80 sec, F5.6, ISO raw 200, 0930 hrs

Hi Abmdsudi,from Nabeul to Tunis,where the medina is too big and there are a lot of opportunities to take lovely pics. I like a lot this perspective,so well exposed,that in fact could be a scene of an horror film as you wrote..ehehe...have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

A beautiful composition with the beautiful light from the gate on the left and the beautiful dark colours of the wall on the right.
The picture reminds me of Rembrandt.

Hello Abmdsudi, this a wonderful shot, beautifully composed with the daylight shining through the archway to one side of the composition.
The dark walls on the right hand side remind me of a painting, where the details are in deep shadow.
The people walking through the arch are 'the icing on the cake'.
