Photographer's Note
One of the many, many souvenir stands in Sidi Bou Said had these dolls for sale on a wall.
I like the shadows they cast because of the late afternoon sun (although I wish the third doll had been more in sun as well).
I'm not sure if the patch of sky is distracting. It provides some perspective, I guess. Cropping brings the first doll's head right to the top of the frame which I'm not too keen on. I could clone it out by raising the far wall, but that seems a bit too much like cheating. :)
The photo has been cropped and sharpened. Originally there was a blanket on the wall next to it. I will add the original as a WS. (any comments? Was this crop good?)

I can't comment on your questions, since I don't know ANYTHING yet about photo editing (I'm hoping to learn but simply don't have time now). However, I do like the composition and your eye - turning the ordinary into something a bit extraordinary. I find it striking. Thanks.
