~ Ribat of Sousse ~, a photo from Sousse, North

Photographer's Note

A very well maintained Ribat of Sousse, one of the oldest surviving fortifications constructed in 7th century in the Byzantine architectural style to accommodate both military and Islamic religious functions. From top of the watchtower you can see all around the old city and the deep blue water of Mediterranean sea, but climbing up to the top is not easy with a very narrow steps.

Setting: 14 mm, 1/125 sec, F22, ISO Raw 100, 1635 hrs & polarised,

Nice layer of shade on the old walls, providing a third layer in the scene: sky, walls, shade. The twin towers of (real) tower and palm tree provide a nice touch on the right.
