Photographer's Note

Lotus flower is one of the most plentiful flowers in Cambodia. Everywhere you travel you will find them in rivers, lakes, ponds, canals and even in roadside ditches. The flower is not only beautiful, it has symbolic meaning in Buddhist traditions because it roots in muddy water, then rises and blooms above the murk, it symbolizes enlightenment. The seeds can be eaten - I've tried quite delicious actually, and there is medicinal value in the roots, stamen and pedals.

I came across this in Phsar Leur market in Kampong Chhnang that just be inspired by the wonderful arrangement all were neatly displayed with flair and artistry. An impression of a Cambodian beauty that I simply couldn't resist taking.

Hello Abmdsudi, a lovely close up of the Lotus flower buds.
I have only ever seen the Lotus flower at Kew gardens in London, and yes they are very beautiful.

A very good photo of these many green leaves of the lotus flower, piled up here and seen in a nice and gentle sidelight. I like the several shades of green here and the details are clearly visible also.

Nicely stacked lotus flowers at the market. The seeds taste like peas, and I tried them in Thailand where they are also popular. Good lighting, sharpness and repetition. Tfs!

Hello Abmdsudi, Nice view of these bunches of lotus flower buds. I like the view of lotuses in the lakes. I didn't know that one can eat also, I haven't tried it. a beautiful composition that evokes memories of South-Eastern Asia.
