Angkor Wat is a largest cult building in the world and a symol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag. Every year a lot of peple from all over the world come here.

Angkor Wat was the main temple of Angkor, an ancient capital of Khmer empire. It was built in 12 century as Hindu temple, dedicated to god Vishnu. The temple is a multilevel construction with the set of passages and stairs, galleries, large open yards and the ponds. The walls of galleries are decorated with stone carving, which picture scenes of Hindu mythology.

At the centre of the temple stand five towers, which (possibly) represent Mount Meru, a sacred mountain considered to be the center of the universe and home of the gods. The temple is surrounded by the external wall, which symbolizes the external wall of universe, and the wide canal, which depicts world ocean.
