Photographer's Note
Another oldie from my Chinese archive. This one comes from our fourth China trip.

Hongcun is an exceptionally well preserved traditional village in southern Anhui.
In harmony with the natural environment, it has developped using the geomantic principles of Feng Shui. Huizhou architecture is the predominant style here, with white walls, dark tiles and horse-head gables being common features.
The best times to visit the village are early morning and late afternoon, when the tour groups have left and the town recaptures its magic.

This picture shows the entrance to the village, with the traditional bridge across the moat.

Very nice presentation of this interesting bridge, with a beautiful natural frame formed by the leaves! Very good depth, colors and contrast! Wonderful composition!
