Photographer's Note
continuing my series of Chinese rural architecture
---
Hongcun is an exceptionally well preserved traditional village in the mountains in southern Anhui.
The village architecture here has developped using the principles of Feng Shui in a style of architecture called Huizhou. White walls, dark tiles and horse-head gables are other common features in this kind of traditional and very Chinese architectural style.
---
This picture shows the pool in the very centre of the village. Such a pool is the heart of traditional village life. It not only serves a practical purpose, it's also a cool gathering place.

Hello Benny,
This was certainly an attractive scene for a photographer.
You have used the curve of the pool successfully to guide irresistibly to the focal buildings and their rippling reflections. You have shown the buildings clearly, their character so different from those of western buildings.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Benny,
this village has a very interesting layout, it looks like a complex designed by one architect with a consistent plan and character in mind. I like very much the interaction of perspectives and shapes, the rhythm you found and exalted from this point of view. The colours are moody and appealing, the graphics so strong that it's surprising to spot a natural looking person at he peak of the curve. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Ourania

Hello Benny,
You had exceptional lighting for the scene depicted so beautifully. The lone individual presents a strong focal point. And Feng Shui is an expression I haven't heard in years. I am glad to see a collection of buildings that actually feature the scheme.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hallo Benny,
Wat een prachtige foto van deze bijzondere plek. Het zachte licht is heel mooi en zorgt voor heel fijne kleuren. De spiegelingen in het kalme water zijn ook prachtig met een heel mooie vervorming. Uitstekende compositie.

Hello Benny,
This is a very atmospheric composition, beautifully illuminated and with superb colours and clarity. Lovely the reflections in the gently rippling waters of the pool.

Dag Benny,

Amicalement

Hi Benny
Gorgeous how the golden light warmly illuminates the face of the old buildings with attractive pool as foreground subject. We have good effective curvy lead lines enhancing the depth together with catchy fig drawing the eye as well. The rich contrasting colors and atmosphere are so subtle. Top notch !!
Congrats.
Best wishes
