Photographer's Note

May I introduce? My girlfriend. My wife. My love. The Huangshan mountain.

On sunny Sunday afternoons I can feel how she is suffering. Ten-thousands of loud and blind but over-geared ignorants, tour-group-tourists with yellow and red caps, with loudspeakers and tons of garbage, they are stepping on her, occupying her, consuming her.
But then in the night, in the early mornings and late evenings, when all cable cars have been stopped, it becomes lonely and quiet up here, listen closely and you will hear her breathing again.

This is the result of a very long morning on the Huangshan.

To get the sunrise from a viewing "platform", or better, from a rock in the sky, I was already shortly after midnight on location, the viewing place was too small for many people, you definitely had to be up there before the masses of Chinese photographers made their way up to the place. It was a long dark night, sometimes raining, sometimes not. The wind was blowing strongly, I tried to hide between some rocks. Couldn't sleep. Too big the danger the next coming guy takes over your place while you cannot defend it...

I love this mountain, so many times I have been up here, and many times still to come. It is such a special place!
