Photographer's Note
In the summer of 2003, I took a couple of days to photograph Hualong-qiao, an area of Chongqing between Lizi-ba and Hongyan-cun along the Jialing River. This area had remained virtually unchanged in 10 years. I was able to photograph many scenes that are now gone--literally--from the area. In the past year, that entire area has been demolished. A bridge, tunnel adn numberous highrises are being built. This building, its windows and the young figure in the window have long since left Hualong-qiao.
