This picture was tiaken from a higher vintage point during the Drepung Festival, held earlier this month, at the Drepung Monestary in Lhasa, Tibet. The holiday was huge, and involved many activities all day long, including the unrolling of a huge thangka down the face of a mountain at Drepung Monestary (hence, you see the monestary in the background). There were thousands upon thousands of people there, some piling in as early as 3 or 4 in the morning. Climbing the mountain and navigating the monestary was crazy because of the amount of people there, all pushing and shoving to do their kora around the thangka and around the monestary. Such an experience!
