Photographer's Note
We biked from Lhasa Tibet to Kathmandu Nepal and along the way we stayed one night at the Rongbuk Monestary which is about 8km from the Tibetan side Everest base camp.
Took this shot just as night was drawing near as the top of Everest was lit up by alpenglow.

Hi Dan!
That must have been quite the exciting bike trip! And this is a great photo, showing the sheer size and some of the feel for the base camp, I am assuming on the north side. We did some treking in the Annapurnas last year, but saw nothing quite this impressive. A very interesting gallery, and some fine work, cheers,
Steve

Hi Dan,
love d vertical composition u hv used in this shot.
D bright orange near d peak of d great massif contemplates so well with d bright blue tent and d prayer flags in d FG. The inclusion of d trekker in d red jacket gives a sense of scale to d picture. Nice moment captured. TFS..........keep posting.

You have captured a golden moment Dan with the low sun.

Hi Dan!
Wow - magnificent shot! I'm very envious of that trip you described in the note... Lhasa to Kathmandu on the bike! I'm a mountain biker too - I'd love to go along that road someday...
This photo is brilliant - the colors are perfect, and exposure is surprisingly in the right range - any grad filter?
Please post more pics from that trip!

Hi Dan,
Lovely scenery. Love that orange glow hitting the tip of the peak and the cloud, which looks like orange smoke. The tents and man really give a sense of scale in this harsh landscape.

First of all, congratulations on reaching this spot. It is quite an accomplishment and I feel lucky just to be able to see a photo of it.
The desolate cold feel comes through in this photo. You give a bit of a sense of how massive and impressive this must have been.

Just a beautiful light on the peak.
I wish you had a chance to bend a little bit to reduce the vertical distance between the mountain and the tnet.
