future days, a photo from Guangxi, South

Photographer's Note

Huangyao is a small and most picturesque village in the north-east corner of Guangxi province. A couple of busses per day from Guilin pass here, and it makes a great place to stop for the night. There's a big fancy hotel just outside the old town and several small and friendly inns inside.

With its old and well-preserved architecture it makes a great movie set. A special feature are the old wall paintings for political or commercial propanda.

This picture just shows a girl who lives in Huangyao.
People are the same all over, really.

Who knows what the future holds in store for this little girl?

Great little portrait, and of course a refernece to Can..awesome. This town sounds quite nice, and the more I think of China, the more I think of tackling it someday (I have done some much Asia but China - where do you start!).

You did a nice close up and the umbrella only partly in the image acts as a kind of frame. Well done!

This is a beautiful shot, Benny - she looks so dwarfed by the umbrella, like she couldn't hold it upright if she wanted to, but it makes a great backdrop for her. I love the faded old clothes and her gaze, off to the side - a really nice portrait of childhood here.

Let's hope she has a big and bright future. She looks so pensive, much more pensive than a little girl her age should be. Maybe she'll be a great thinker. Excellent, poignant moment beautifully captured in colour. The umbrella is a fantastic extra element for an already beautiful portrait.

Nice infor notes to go along with this picture, This is wonderful shot of a girl looking out and it's intriguing to wonder what seems to be attracting her attention. This has a wonderful light on her face, the stunning red umbrella catches the eye as strong focal point to the shot. Children make excellent photographic subject such as this picture shows, charming full of tenderness, sweet and smooth faces and hopeful. A stand out shot indeed!. Congrats

Ciao Benny, always not banal and boring shot...this portrait is so tender and in so nice contest...i don't see the focal of the shot but seem her not see you and the expression is natural...nice one...
