The most charming fishing village in China, Xiapu Mudflat offers authentic scenery combined with the local people tradition and culture that you could see while visiting the area,

Locals living along the beach are mainly engaged in marine culture. The bamboo poles, fish nets and stone columns that are inserted in the mudflats all you can see in Xiapu Mudflat. Those are used to dry kelp, laver, oyster and other marine products. The peak season for kelp harvest begins in May every year.

Due to the pleasant seawater temperature and plenty of sunshine, the Xiapu mudflats are rich in kelp, laver, oyster and yellow croakers. As the sun rises and sets, the tide rises and falls, the bamboo poles, fishing boats and fish nets form various spectacular sceneries. Xiapu Mudflats always create amazing scenery together with its scenery, colorful low lying sand, history, culture, fisher farms and fishermen working scene.

Kelp Harvesting season.
The Kelp are harvested from the sea and hang on the bamboo pole to dry. The best quality Kelp are to be dried within a day in good sunlight. The vale of the Kelp will drop by 30% if it is not collect in 24 hours
