Photographer's Note
There is a famous Chinese saying: "There is heaven above, Suzhou and Hangzhou below". The main attraction of Hangzhou is the West Lake, a lagoon, described by a 12th-century visitor as "a landscape designed by a painter".
In response to Claude: The boats are visiting two miniature stone pagodas. Each is around 2 meters high and has five equally spaced windows. On the night of the Autumn Moon Festival, lanterns are put inside the windows. Together with a third, the pagodas are known collectively as "Three Pools Mirroring the Moon".

You are a master of silhouettes, Martin. I like the 3 different tones of the 3 hills behind, it's like a children painting. The figures at the boat are so interesting, having many different poses.

I share what Yitzak said about this picture martin. It does look like a chinese painting.I love the way to compose the picture, the way the hills in the background are on the right spot. What is the thing in the middle of the boat??Looks like a small temple.

Well, I can't say it any better than the previous critiques, but I also like the three layers of hills in the back, and the sort of busy scenery on the lake, with the boats and people only visible as silhouettes. Also, I like how this seems to be b&w at first glance, but then there are obvious tones of green in the trees. Very beautiful.

Very good composition. I think this is the perfect image to B&W. The brown tones are very well done.

A very fine work of silhouettes and the slight fog gives it a fine depth. Very well done!

Stunning tonal perspective from deep black of the foreground to light grey of distant hill.
Though the silhouettes seem a bit too over-sharpened to me.
Anyway, great! Congratz!

Again, I like very much all your photos with silouettes. Very good composition, nice proportions of the photo dymensions. Nice almost desaturated colors. Beautiful water, very good scenary. Superb atmosphere too.
