Photographer's Note

I think we should learn to break rules sometimes. Probably all of the work I will post on Trekearth was taken with a Pentax 67, a wonderful hunk of camera that most users will tell you can not be used handheld. The reason for this is that the camera has a tremendous shake from its large mirror and shutter curtain. Sometimes, however, (and not just with this photo), it's good to sacrifice some details, accept a bit of double image and create something with more heart than technical perfection.

There was only one child on this swing at the Shapingba Park amusement park. It was rickety and scary, but he was oblivious to any danger.
