Photographer's Note

The first pix of the bustling life, constantly happening almost night and day, around the Sri Jagannath temple in Puri.

This temple is one of the highly revered religious places in India. The activity around it is happening at every moment, in a mesmerizing atmosphere, almost medieval at times.

So much the eye, and certainly the camera can't ever hope to catch it all. So, while in Puri, i went there evryday, sometimes twice a day. This is not a late shot, but the warm lights of the sweets stall across from the temple entrance, quickly took on the atmosphere of this corner, and the bustle around them, provided a lively touch of shadow theater almost. The reason why I shot from afar and framed as if it took place on a curtained stage.

wow, elle est belle celle-ci.
j'adore les "ombres indiennes" au premier plan et Nandi, superbement éclairé. Beaucoup d'ambiance dans cette image... bien équilibrée...

Une superbe composition. J'aime beaucoup ces teintes chaudes d'orangé qui entoure les ombres et les profils. Techniquement irréprochable avec un joli clin d'oeil du mec qui vous regarde. Bravo.

Très joli, les bords noirs nous invitent à prendre place dans un fauteuil et regarder cette scène de film avec sa lumière de grande qualité. J'aime beaucoup les contrastes orangé/noir comme celui-ci.. ça me donne l'idée d'uploader une photo un peu similaire.. ce soir peut être.. :)...

This isa lovely picture, herve, the light is remarkable and the dominance of rich earth clolours rive it a rich texture. The strong contrast of light and shadow also give it a sense of drama. It is a very memorable image.

Good warm colored atmosphere on this market with counterlighted persons as framing under. That one man gazing at you takes all the attention. Good to use more spot meting now for focus, using it all the time myself to control sharpness better on targets.
