Photographer's Note

The Indian Riverboat : This shot was taken on the same day as was the previous TE upload.This is a typical Indian Riverboat or Nauka used for joyrides in the Hooghly River.Mostly used by lovers for a few quiet moments together. A long wooden pole is used by the ferryman to move the boat in the heavily silted waters of the Ganges.The sea is only about 100 km from Calcutta.The Ganges meets the sea ( Bay of Bengal ) near the Sagar Island.

This so simple, yet so pretty. I think it is the scarcity of colors that makes this photo so attractive. Just earth tones an cyan. The POV is effective, too.

note: try to use the space before the subject
(especially when subject is moving), than you
emphasize that moment extra and you make also the

Hello Farhat,
Nice tones of brown and light blue in the water, where the simple boat in maching colours is moving nicely on a diagonal. The wooden pole makes another, opposing diagonal. The atmosphere is good.

Brown color of the river water is well collected under bright daylight.

The National Geographic Society publishes once a month an informative magazine and amongst other subjects, they show once in a while such exotic views of local traditions; so I consider this picture, showing only "the essential of" this way of traveling, is worthy to be published in a coming issue, given its high-quality depiction.

Lovely isolation shot, and the placement of the boat within this framework is ideal! A wonderful minimalist way to convey the every day works along the river. I always enjoy the scenes which portray the local type of perspectives, and this is certainly one that accomplishes that aspect. The blue design on the boat is a nice burst of color contrast against the muddy colored waters and feels to be just the right touch in compliment to the rest of the image. Nicely realized and presented. Have a great day ahead.

Hello Farhat,

This is a tasteful photograph, so it's interesting and impressive to see the riverboat with the traditional shape, the ferryman using long wooden pole and rowing the Ganjes and customers in boat. it's effective for two color layers of the calm Ganjes which arose by light. And, the shadow of boat/pole projected to the river draw out a good atmosphere in this image.

this is an elegantly composed and framed picture, that gives us a good description of the boat and the work of the ferryman. I like the river with its motion, particular colour and reflections as sole backdrop. I used to hate paddling a boat against the current, it takes forever to arrive at our destination. Great timing and capture of this riverboat. I like the angle of the lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.

I´m sorry I was quite busy last week in my job,so couldn´t be up to date with your gallery.
This one attracted my attention immediately.Nicely composed and zoomed without "classical" horizon line(which makes the scene even more captivating) and with so lovely boat(the blue color creates here really eye-catching color contrast).

It is always tricky when composing a single object, as it can float around within the picture frame. Here you have nicely used the shadows to hold the boats and attached it to the sides of the frame and stabalizing the structure of this composition. A nice shot with overall good control of the lighting.

I like the atmosphere conveyed by the river boat which seems to be lost in the wide waters of The Ganges.
Lovely contrast between the deeper colour of the boat and the more subdued of the boat.
The atmosphere seems to be relaxed, perfect for meditation or courtship.
