Photographer's Note
I SHOOT IT AT GANGASAGAR FAIR IN 2004.WITH 28-80MM.AFTER THE HOLY BATH,THE PILGRIM USED TO DRY THEIR WET CLOTHS IN THIS WAY.
Gangasagar Mela is the largest fair celebrated in West Bengal(INDIA). This fair is held where the Ganga and the Bay of Bengal form a nexus. Hence the name Gangasagar Mela. This festival is celebrated during January every year and is a major attraction for millions of piligrams from all over India.
The pilgrims come for a holy dip on Makar Sankranti (last day of the Bengali Month) Negha -Mid January. They take dips in the Ganges and offer water to the Sun God. The dip, as they say, purifies their 'self' and according to them, 'punya' can be obtained thus. When they are done with the ritual obligations, they head towards the Kapilmuni Temple situated nearby, to worship the deity as a mark of respect.
**ITS A SCANNED IMAGE,SO PARDON ME FOR NOISE IN THE PICTURE**I put a sepia version of it in WS**

Hi Subir,
Excellent POV no doubt about that. But I have a feeling, this would look even better in colour.
Best Wishes

I'm glad to know that there are very good photographers in India. Maybe because of richness of subjects. A really photographic land India, isn't it? Very well done, good composition and I like this old BW feeling also Subir. Well done.

an absolute gorgeous post from Gangasagar. just too common to see the pigrims drying their clothes in all big melas, and they always make for a great subject to shoot.
love the monochrome, and the grainy effect in it, giving it a timeless feel.
no wonder you have a great composition out of them. to be a bit too critical, maybe you could have used a different border, maybe a wide white one!
a quality take.
Best, Arnab

Dear subir,
A beautiful poem through the lens.
Photo frame composition is an intrinsic look of the man behind the lens. You are that man.
Just few suggestions:
1. Poetrical caption better matches this type of shot. You are a poet writing through the lens.
2. Capital letters are like shouting in the ears. Better to avoid those.
Bold option with the usual letters you may try.

Another strong composition, excellent depth without the perspective of selective focusing--only geometrical elements.
Very good.
